About
I am Sophia Thielmann, an Architecture and Psychology student at the University of Notre Dame. I am German-Colombian, and I am currently on my 4th year. My passion for architecture began when I realized it was the only field that combined all of my interests: art, mathematics, history, and all in relationship to humans. It is this tight relationship between designing and human lives that currently interests me the most. I have come to realize the impact Architecture has on humanity, and am eager to learn more. I find it fascinating how Architecture can touch on themes of identity, sense of belonging, heritage, well-being, and all in relation to sustainability and resilience. Because of this, I decided to double major with Psychology. I intend to gain a more comprehensive understanding of the relationship between these two fields to learn how to design successfully while preserving tradition, and essentially help the world become more human.
